Candied Bacon

A simple way to elevate your bacon, sweet, spicy, delicious. Perfect addition to any breakfast or brunch menu! Also my favorite for a BLT.

Candied Bacon:

  • thick cut bacon, 1 lb

  • brown sugar, 3-4 Tbsp

  • black pepper, 2 tsp

  • red pepper flakes, 2 tsp

Method:

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment. Lay out the bacon on the sheet so it’s evenly spread out.

  2. Combine the sugar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Sprinkle half onto the bacon and pat it in, then flip the bacon and sprinkle the rest on the other side.

  3. Turn on the oven to 375° and place the tray in. I prefer adding the bacon to a cold oven to help render some of the fat out. Bake for about 30 minutes, rotating the tray halfway through. Once reached the desire crispiness, remove from oven and let cool a bit before serving (the sugar is MOLTEN HOT so be careful).
